My Search for No-Carb Cloud Bread. #cloudbread

What’s the story with Cloud Bread?  This past week or so all I have been seeing on social media and Pinterest are posts about #CloudBread. I have never seen so many photos about bread.  What is going on?  Is this bread made in the clouds?  Is it bread you eat while sitting on a cloud?  Or is this bread so soft and delicious you feel like you are eating a cloud?  I really had to check this one out for myself.  I mean come on millions of people on the Internet can’t be wrong. Right?  All I could think of is that if cloud bread is the latest web craze than I need to check it out.  The only problem that came up for me was that I really wasn’t in a baking type of mood.  So I decided to head out to the stores and shops in my neighborhood to see if I could purchase some cloud bread.

The first logical places to check out were the local bakeries. I stopped into one, then another, and another, but no one there ever even heard of cloud bread.  I tried to explain it to them and even showed them pictures but they were dumbfounded.  How could the bakeries, the places where bread is made never have heard of this new type of bread?  I then took my search to a couple of organic supermarkets figuring they might be more in tune with the healthy eating trends.  I was amazed that no one working in either of these two stores had heard anything about cloud bread. There I was standing at the main intersection in my town about to give up my search when I saw it.  About half way down one of the intersecting blocks I noticed a couple of hipsters congregating outside a shop.
I eagerly walked down the sidewalk in their direction.  As I got closer I noticed a corral of baby strollers next to the group of bearded hipsters.  What was this place?  My interest was definitely piqued.  The hipsters were all sipping lattes and perusing the web with their free hands.  It was a coffee house.  I had stumbled upon a newly opened independent coffee house.  I opened the door and took a half step into the place when a waft of coffee and cinnamon goodness hit my olfactory bulb.  I felt my heart begin to race.  Finally this may be a place that sells the cloud bread that I’ve been looking for.  The line was enormous almost reaching the door.  I couldn’t wait all that time in line just to see if they had cloud bread.  I decided to take a chance and approach the counter to ask my question.  I could feel the patrons on line staring at the back of my head as I passed them by.  I even heard one woman say, “What does he think he’s doing?”  I got to the counter and before anyone could object I asked the question, “Do you sell cloud bread?”
I could see the baristas lips beginning to form that all too familiar “NO” I’ve been hearing all day.  She said, “NO, but we are working on it.”  YES! There was finally a ray of hope in my search for this famous No-Carb Cloud Bread.  My quest for the day was lastly coming to an end.  Without another word I turned around and walked away from the counter.  As I made my way towards the exit I couldn’t help but notice pictures of cloud bread on several tablets and smart phone screens of the patrons.  Hipsters and moms, sipping lattes with visions of no-carb cloud bread. My world at that moment couldn’t get any more surreal.

My Netflix Anxiety Disorder. #Netflix #Lilyhammer #TheWalkingDead

Ever since Netflix went to a streaming platform there has been a new phenomenon developing in my household.  Unfortunately I cannot think of one word that can adequately describe this phenomenon.  So I will just call it what it is, “I’ve got too many choices I can’t commit to watching one thing lets just browse endlessly for hours syndrome.”  You see there are even too many words to come up with a catchy acronym for this thing.  I really don’t think that: IGTMCICCTWOTLJBEFHS is going to catch on as the next catch phrase.  I mean for one there are just way to many consonants in that one.  The thing is I’m sure that many of you have experience with this in your own homes.  Whether it is you, your spouse or another family member this level of indecisiveness has not been seen since the advent of the first TV remote control.  My wife and I can sit there for at least an hour perusing Netflix reading the descriptions of countless movies without being willing to commit to one. I especially have this fear of starting a movie only to find out 15 minutes or so into it that we’ve made a big mistake.  My wife keeps telling me we can just stop the movie and start another one.  But no I refuse and wont give up until I have found what I think is the perfect movie.  More times than not these picks end up being decent but at that point my wife ends up falling asleep half way through them.
On these nights it is good to have a back up plan in mind.  Maybe something that we saved onto our watch list, a good documentary, or maybe a Netflix original.  Some of the things that are in our list right now are movies like, “Night at theRoxbury”, “The WalkingDead”, “The Machine”, and of course the Netflix original “Lilyhammer.”  This by far is one of my favorite shows on Netflix.  Why oh why did Netflix cancel this wonderful show is a mystery to me.  I have to say Netflix this is one of your biggest mistakes.  “Lilyhammer”was such a unique show.

The cast and characters were something like I have never seen before.  For those of you who have not seen this show I highly suggest you give it a try.  Now much of the show is in subtitles because the characters speak Norwegian but this does not detract from the overall greatness of this series.  Watch a couple of episodes and I am sure you will be hooked.  Steven Van Zandt who plays the main character Frank Tagliano is phenomenal.  Trond Fausa who plays his Norwegian business partner Torgeir Lien is a quirky, nervous, ball of laughs.  I hope someone from Netflix reads this post and gets the crew and cast back together for another season.
